About

A practice guided by light, living things, and attention to what deserves to be seen slowly.

Where light
becomes presence.

I am a Canadian painter based in Québec. My work explores light in all its forms — light on a face at rest, light filtering through a summer morning, the inner light of those I have the privilege to paint.

I work primarily in oil and pastel. These two mediums allow me to capture what I seek: a presence, a suspended moment, something alive.

My works often begin with an emotion before they begin with a subject. What interests me is not simply reproducing what I see, but conveying what I feel before something that deserves to be seen slowly.

Mediums and practice

Two materials,
one search for light.

01

Oil on canvas

Oil allows for a slow depth built through passages, transparency, and texture. I use it especially for portraits and contemplative works.

02

Pastel

Pastel captures colour with an almost airy immediacy. It lets me follow natural light while preserving its softness and presence.
